During the summer, multi-day helicopter fly-fishing experiences allow us to deliver you into wilderness areas in the Central North Island. This can be either a single day or to take full advantage be extended to 2 and 3 day trips. You will be stalking wild rainbows and browns who have real attitude and will fight you all the way.
If staying overnight we will establish camp after the days fishing then prepare for the evening rise, which can be absolutely tremendous fishing for the last hour. We provide all necessary equipment, food and beverage, you however just have to provide some excellent fireside stories to finish off the day.
During the summer, our 2 or 3 day raft fishing experience is a great way to cover the river. On these trips you will be flown by helicopter or fixed wing aircraft with your raft and equipment into the wilderness. We have the assistance of professional rafting guides and of course ourselves. The rafts are used to access pools that you simply can not walk too. Your camp and food is prepared each night by your guides while you continue fishing or simply relax with a little refreshment and enjoy the complete isolation of the New Zealand wilderness.
Another area that proves popular is fishing what is known as the Western Bays of Lake Taupo. Accessed only by boat there are many streams which flow into the lake and provides for some sight fishing along the shore line for cruising trout. This option provides the angler with some great scenery along with fishing possibly a new style.
We can arrange overnight trips onto the lake weather permitting with the best fishing in the summer months when the trout are smelting around the river mouths.
This option is something very special when spending the evenings chasing trout then having dinner either onboard the vessel or on the sandy beaches of the Western Bays.
