Brent,

Just a quick note to thank you from the 3 old geriatric fishermen aka the 3 Blind Mice and sharing your magnificent secret of the Rangitikei River.

As discussed around the camp fire each night we have fished from the isolated London Lakes in the highlands of central Tasmania shrouded in mist whilst casting for trout and surrounded by native Australian wildlife to the unbelievable beauty of the Rivadavia in Esquel Argentina rafting and fishing. I always thought that my experience fishing the Rio Grande River at sunset with not another sole in site standing in the middle of this 100 meter wide river could never be topped.

It wasn’t until we flew into your remote campsite that I realised what we had to offer in NZ in the way of rugged isolated splendour. The 3 days that we spent endeavouring to lose most if not all of your fly’s whilst stalking and catching trophy fish in the crystal clear waters will remain with me forever as an unbeatable highlight in my chequered career as a fly fisherman. I did not realise the opportunities we have in little old NZ until this time. The nights were even more memorable after a hard day’s fishing , sitting around the campfire drinking fine wine and beer reliving the day’s experiences before sitting down to an amazing meal prepared by yourself before retiring to our tents with the wild Kaimanawa horses whistling in the night to get up the next day and repeat it all again.

As I said when leaving I have traveled the world but my time spent on the Rangitikei will always rank as one of the best and I cannot wait to repeat the experience.

Thank you once again from one of the three blind mice.
